Questions about Methods tutoring

Wondering how lessons work? Here are a few things students and parents often ask. You're welcome to get in touch if there's something else you'd like to know.

How much does tutoring cost?

It's $60 an hour, with just the two of us in the lesson.

Which subject and units do you tutor?

VCE Maths Methods, Units 1-4. That covers both Units 1&2 and Units 3&4.

Do I need to be in Melbourne?

You can join from anywhere the VCE curriculum is taught. I'm based in Melbourne, but all my lessons are online.

How do online lessons work?

We'll meet on Zoom and work on a shared whiteboard. You can bring a question from school, or tell me what you're covering and we'll find a place to start. You keep all our working for revision.

What can we work on in a lesson?

Whatever you're getting stuck on in Methods. We can work through school questions, get more comfortable with your CAS, or prepare for a SAC or exam. We'll take it step by step, with time for you to try things and ask questions.

Do you provide practice SACs and worked solutions?

Yes. I design practice SACs and worksheets around the study design, VCAA conventions and what I've learnt from real SACs. AI drafts the questions to that approach, and the full worked solutions show where each mark is earned.

Can I have a look at the practice material?

There's a free Units 1&2 calculus practice SAC on the practice page, with the question paper and full worked solutions. You're welcome to download both and have a go.

What are your qualifications?

I finished at Viewbank College in 2025 as Dux, with a 98.95 ATAR and a raw 44 in Methods. I'm now studying Engineering (Honours) at Monash University. I also hold a valid Victorian Working with Children Check.

How do I get started?

Send me an email or text with which units you're taking and a bit about what you'd like help with. We can talk about a starting point and suitable times. Parents are welcome to get in touch too.
